The contractor will begin work in June on the North Plaza, a 15-hectare gateway east of Abbey Highway in Leiston that may deal with employee entry, deliveries and safety screening for the £38bn energy station job.
The plaza will act as the primary entry level into the Short-term Building Space, with new roads linking in buses, deliveries and website visitors earlier than automobiles and employees transfer on in the direction of the primary construct zone.
The £50m-£70m deal will create round 70 jobs and provides Kier one other foothold on one of many UK’s largest infrastructure schemes after its earlier work at Hinkley Level C by the Kier BAM three way partnership.
For Sizewell C, the North Plaza is an important early piece of infrastructure because the challenge gears up for the following stage of development and begins setting up the logistics and safety methods wanted to deal with the large move of employees and supplies.
At peak, nearly 8,000 persons are anticipated to work on the Sizewell C challenge.
