US DOT Freeze of EV Infrastructure Funding Is Illegal, Watchdog Says

The U.S. Dept. of Transportation broke the regulation when it suspended the Nationwide Electrical Car Infrastructure System Program, says a report the U.S. Government Accountability Office launched on Could 22. It says company officers declare this system was not carried out properly and that almost all of its funding has not been activated by states.

Congress created the EV funding program by the 2021 Infrastructure Funding and Jobs Act to spice up state efforts to deploy and keep electrical car charging infrastructure.
