The duo will draw up an in depth industrial masterplan and strategic enterprise case masking six key growth websites throughout the city, alongside wider alternatives for funding.
Public engagement on the plans is ready to start in spring 2026 because the partnership seems to be to form a future imaginative and prescient for the coastal city that blends new jobs, houses and cultural areas with its maritime heritage.

• A hotel-led Corridor & Woodhouse growth on the Weymouth Peninsula with new hospitality and leisure area.
• Blended-use schemes at North Quay and Weymouth Bowl delivering new houses and industrial models.
• £1.1m “Coronary heart of Weymouth” cultural hub at The Rectory on St Thomas Road.
• A proposed Allied Well being Skilled College and Dental School.
Cllr Richard Biggs, cupboard member for property and financial progress, stated the work was about “constructing a future rooted in alternative, id, and satisfaction”.
Willmott Dixon growth chief David Atkinson described the transfer as “an opportunity to show Dorset Council’s ambitions into actuality”, whereas Milligan CEO Stuart Harris stated the crew aimed to “curate locations that mix leisure, tradition, heritage and commerce”.
The partnership is designed to draw personal funding and speed up supply of tasks that can remodel Weymouth into one of many South Coast’s most vibrant locations.
